IWS-Eastern Campus,Indore Students Excels at Jr.Bal Vigyan

Indus World School, Eastern Campus, Jhalaria, Indore students   presented their Science project on the Theme “Science in Everyday Life”, at the Sahodaya Junior Bal Vigyan Competition organised on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at The Millennium School, Indore. Several local schools participated in this competition. Students Amay Paul and Akshit Sharma of Grade VIII, had developed an Android App that could be used to remotely control the electricity supply from a distance - the power could be switched on and off. A mobile smart-phone with the Android App sends a signal to a robot, on which is mounted a receiver that sends the signal on to a micro servo that controls an arm that turns the switch on or off. This remote control could also be used in a Bluetooth or WiFi environment.
The other members of the team were Saud Hashmi and Khushi Jaiswal, who participated in a role play, wherein they dramatised a situation where the residents of an apartment forget to turn off the power while going on holiday, and can turn it off remotely from their location.
