Mr. Sujit Bhattacharya adressing parents |
How would you
feel if some one doesn’t listens to you properly? If you have to repeatedly ask
the same question from someone to whom you are talking because he is not paying
attention to you?

Mr. Bhattacharya in discussion with parents |
An open seminar was on the same was conducted
by Indus World School on 26th of May 2012. The speaker for the
seminar was Mr. Sujit Bhattacharya, CEO- Indus World Schools who is an IIT/IIM
Alumnus himself. This was his first ever interaction session in Pune. The session commenced with the presentation of
a case study which depicted how an adult would feel when someone listens to him
with half attention, keeps questioning rather than acknowledging, and is
sympathetic and not empathetic.

Closure with parents |
Similarly, a child feels disturbed when he
does not get an empathetic response from his parents. Such actions generate
conflict in the child’s personality and create a sense of being “not ok” in the
child’s mind. As parents we should be good listeners, empathize with them and
try to find the solutions to their issues rather than being dismissive of them.
Empathetic listing and actions create a sense of “being ok” in the child which
helps the child grow up into a confident person. Mr.Bhattacharya spoke
on different ways of empathetic listening and responding to children.
The session was
followed by an interaction where the parents discussed various issues related
to the children with examples, asked questions, and participated actively in
the question and answer session.
