Salad Making

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away" . What does this phrase bring to our minds? Fruits are good for health. When people want to go on a diet what does a dietician advice? He says never stay hungry, we must at least eat some fruits. On 27th June 2012, the students of PP-2 had their mentor bring some fruits into the class. Pressy Ma'am brought a Watermelon, a Muskmelon and a Mango. During the lesson the children learnt the colours of the fruits. When their mentor cut the fruits they saw that the Watermelon had many brown and black seeds a Muskmelon too had many seeds, but a Mango had just one big seed. Through the lesson the children learnt the colour, the covering, the seeds and the taste etc. about the fruits.

After the mentor had finished with her teaching about the fruits she cut the fruits and made a delicious fruit salad. The children then went to all the classes and shared their fruit salad with their other Indusian friends. The mentor used this lesson and taught the children not only about the fruit but also a good act of sharing. This is the Indus way of teaching.
