SPIC – MACAY awards Indus World School student


Indus World School student, Rajul Jain, Grade 8, was awarded as best performer by SPIC-MACAY. SPIC – MACAY had organized a 7 day workshop for school students in Bemetra district, Chhattisgarh. 500 students from 47 different schools of India participated in the workshop. Workshops consisted of arts like Madhubani painting, Hindustani vocals, Kalankari, Pandavani, Pottery and terracotta, Classical dance and other dance forms. Students were trained by esteemed professionals of respective fields. Student of Indus World School, Rajul Jain got a chance to be trained by Padma Shri honored Teejan Bai for Pandavani art.
Teejan Bai is an exponent of Pandavani, a traditional performing art form, from Chhattisgarh, in which she enacts tales from the Mahabharata, with musical accompaniments. Rajul performed Pandavani art as taught by Teejan Bai. She was awarded for as Best Performer. Mr. V. Krishna, Principal, IWS-RAIPUR blessed Rajul for her achievement and being proud and glory for the school. This achievement has again proved that Indus World School is the best school in Raipur.
