Indus World School Indore has initiated a Students' Exchange Programme

25 students of Class VII from Riverside School, Ahmedabad along with and three teachers are in Indore for a 7 day visit as a part of the students' exchange program. The students have arrived on 12th January and are living with Class VII students of Indus World School at their homes.

'This exchange is a great opportunity for students of both schools to interact with their contemporaries. They learn about each other's school and the culture of their respective cities. Both as hosts and guests children would get a first-hand experience of each others' life style and habits. This exposure should boost the confidence of children and also help them forge strong bonds.' said Mrs. Smita Rathore, Principal, Indus World School.

'We believe holistically in emphasing on socio-emotional experiences. Such exchange programmes help students imbibe   the same easily without any theoretical explanation.' said Mr. R. Shivakumar, Chairman, Indus World School.

The children from Riverside arrived early morning on the 12th of January by Shanti Express. They were welcomed at the Chawani campus of IWS Indore by the Indus students. From school everyone went home with the hosts. Later in school the children got introduced and spent time sharing about each of the schools. They celebrated the birthday of Ruhaan (Riverside) in the unique way birthdays are celebrated at Indus.

The visit coincides with the harvest festival of Sankranthi. Children from both schools enjoyed flying kites at the Jhalaria campus of Indus World School. The day was spent in playing some team building games. They also found time to catch up on academics, some time was spent by children in class learning.

On Saturday, 14th January everyone went for Indore visit. The group visited the Indore Museum, Khajrana temple, Kaanch Mandir, Lal Bagh and Vaishno devi temple. The evening was time for song and dances and skits around the camp fire at Chawani campus. They went to a trek to Kajligarh on Monday, 16th January. Children would be further involved in many activities including making a huge poster for each other. Towards the end of the programme the children will together put up a cultural show for the parents of children of Indus World School.

Students from Indus World School will similarly visit Ahmedabad as continuation of this exchange program.
